How to prepare
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for at least 2-4 weeks before your session.
- Do not apply lotions, creams, makeup, or deodorant on the treatment area on the day of your appointment.
- Keep your skin healthy and hydrated in the days leading up to treatment.
- Avoid smoking, as it can slow down your body’s natural healing and pigment removal process.
- Refrain from drinking alcohol or taking aspirin and ibuprofen for 24 hours before treatment, as they can increase bruising or bleeding.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing that won’t rub against the treated area.
- Inform your laser technician of any new medications, skin conditions, or health changes before your appointment.
After your treatment
- Apply a cool compress as needed to reduce redness, swelling, or discomfort during the first 24 hours.
- Use a thin layer of the recommended healing ointment and keep the area clean and dry.
- Do not pick, scratch, or pop any blisters or scabs that form. Allow your skin to heal naturally to prevent scarring.
- Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 4 weeks after each treatment. Once healed, always apply SPF 30 or higher on the area.
- Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, and long baths until the treated area is completely healed (usually 1–2 weeks).
- Continue staying hydrated and maintaining a healthy diet to support recovery.
